To keep tuition at an affordable level, to hire and retain great teachers, and to recruit a talented and diverse student body, we must strengthen the school’s intellectual foundation by building a strong endowment. Half of the Priorities for Pomfret campaign is devoted to this effort.
Pomfret is committed to remaining small, both in total number of students and student-teacher ratio. Its intimate scale separates it from most of its competitors and contributes significantly to the quality of the
experience it offers.
But small size yields a limited amount of tuition income, which covers only
70 percent of the cost of a Pomfret education. The remaining 30 percent must be supplied by the Annual Fund and income generated by the school’s endowment. |
