Carson RoyDirector of Admissions and Financial Aid 860.963.6121 St. Lawrence University - B.A. History; Minor in Education Columbia University - M.A. Education Leadership,The Klingenstein Center Carson Roy joined the Pomfret Admissions Team as Director of Admissions and Financial Aid in July 2011 after serving for the past three years as Director of Upper and Middle School Admissions at the Fieldston School in New York City. Prior to Fieldston, he spent three years as Assistant Director of Admissions and History Teacher at Suffield Academy and three years as the Assistant Director of Admissions at The Williston Northampton School.
A boarding school graduate, Carson grew up in Essex Junction,Vermont. He received a BA from St. Lawrence University where he was a member of the Men’s Tennis team and has a MA from The Klingenstein Center at Columbia University.
Carson lives on campus and enjoys golfing and running in his spare time. |
 Rebecca BrooksAssociate Director of Admissions and Financial Aid. 860-963-5805 Williams College - B.A. After graduating from Westminster School in 1996, Rebecca pursued soccer, basketball and track and field and a B.A. in History at Williams College. After the experience of a year abroad in France, Rebecca spent 2002-2004 at Tufts University as an assistant coach to the soccer, basketball and track field programs. The two years spent working with young adults inspired Rebecca to continue working in the field of education, and her search brought her to Pomfret School in the fall of 2004 as an Admissions Associate and History teacher. In addition to these titles, Rebecca assists the girls Varsity soccer team, heads the girls Varsity basketball team, and overall enjoys enrolling and working with teenagers in what are extremely influential and pivotal years. |
 Christopher FoggAssistant Director of Admissions 860-963-6122 Connecticut College - B.A. Chris joined the Pomfret School admissions team in thesummer of 2012. Originally fromSandwich, MA, Chris attended St. George’s School where he played soccer, hockey, and lacrosse. After graduating from St. George’s, Chris attended Connecticut College where he earned a BA in Government and Environmental Studies. Chris played for the varsity ice hockey team at Connecticut College and was the recipient of the Brown/Brooks award for scholarship, leadership, and sportsmanship. Chris is a dorm parent in Pyne Dormitory and the assistant boy’s varsity ice hockey coach. |
 Shanique GarciaAssociate Director of Admissions 860.963.6132 Connecticut College - BA Psychology & Hispanic Studies Columbia University - MSW, Health/Mental Health Shanique Garcia joined the Pomfret admissions team in August 2011 after serving 4 years as Assistant Director of Admission at the Prep for Prep program in New York City. Shanique is a graduate of St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH where she participated in the School Year Abroad program to Barcelona, Spain during her VI form year. She completed her BA in Psychology and Hispanic Studies from Connecticut College and her Masters of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. Shanique lives on campus and loves to cook and travel on her spare time. |
 Porter HayesAssistant Director of Admissions 860.963.5825 Denison University - B.A.
Porter Hayes joined the Pomfret Admissions Office in September of 2010. Prior to joinging the Admissions Office, Hayes worked for Major League Lacrosse working on the fulfillment end of all sponsorship contracts with the League’s partners and teams. Prior to joining Major League Lacrosse, Hayes worked in the front office for the Boston Celtics.
A native of Exeter, New Hampshire, Porter attended Denison University in Granville, Ohio and was a member of the Men’s Lacrosse team, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Sports Leadership at Northeastern University.
Hayes coaches Recreational Hockey and Girls Varsity Lacrosse. He currently lives in Upper 3 Dormitory with his wife and English teacher, Ellee Hayes.

 Arthur HorstAssistant Director of Admissions, Math Teacher 860-963-5214 Wesleyan University - B.A. Teachers College Columbia University - M.A. Art has been an educator for 23 years. His experience includes teaching at Oregon Episcopal School, Northfield Mount Hermon Summer School, Deerfield Academy, and Soledad Enrichment Action (through the Jesuit Volunteer Corps).After graduating cum laude from Loomis Chaffee School, where he earned a varsity letter in four sports and was captain of the football and wrestling teams, Art earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and his advanced degree in educational administration. Art’s coaching experience is highlighted by a New England Championship in wrestling while at Deerfield Academy and a WNEISWA championship (wrestling) at Pomfret in 2009. He served as the coordinator of the action plan for Pomfret School’s 2008-2009 NEASC self-study. Art came to Pomfret in 1997 with his family, which includes his wife Martha and their five children. |
 Rebecca ZaviszaAssistant Director of Admissions 860-963-6133 Boston College - B.A. Originally from Suffield, Connecticut, Becky comes to Pomfret after spending the last three years at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, as a Sports Event Manager at ESPN Wide World of Sports. She is a graduate of Berkshire School ('05) and a 2009 graduate of Boston College, where she enjoyed a successful career as a member of the Womens' Ice Hockey team. Becky was also a member of the US Women's Ice Hockey National Team Program while she attended Boston College. Becky is an Assistant Director of Admissions, Head Coach of the Varsity Girls' Ice Hockey team, Assistant Coach for the Varsity Girls' Lacrosse team and living and working as a dorm parent in Picerne House. |
 Judy SmithAssistant to the Directors of Admission 860-963-6123 Judy Smith began working with the Admissions team in August 2009. She joins her husband, Paul, at Pomfret who has worked here since November 1998. Their two daughters, Amy ’06 and Becky ’09, are working as a social worker in the Philadelphia area and studying at North Park University in Chicago, respectively. Judy holds a degree in elementary education with a minor in psychology from Fitchburg State College; she also has a certificate in Spiritual Direction from The Mercy Center in Madison CT. Prior to coming to Pomfret, Judy worked at YMCA Camp Woodstock for several years. When not working, she enjoys reading, sewing, walking, and mostly spending time with her family. |
 Rhonda FargnoliCoordinator of Tours and Campus Visits 860-963-6124 Rhonda Fargnoli came to Pomfret in 2004. She is the Coordinator of Tours and Campus Visits. Before coming to Pomfret she taught Art/ Studio Art and St. Michael’s Country Day and currently teaches at RISD in the CE Program. She is the parent of Elise, Class of ‘07 and Seth, Class of ’13. |
 Eileen DiazAdmissions Assistant Part-Time 860-963-6120 Eileen joined the Admissions Office in 2006. She holds a B.S. in Earth Sciences, with a concentration in Geophysics, from the University of New Orleans. She previously worked as a Geophysicist and Environmental Consultant before leaving the workforce to care for her three children. Eileen's oldest child recently graduated from Pomfret School, and her two other children are currently enrolled here. She enjoys baking, reading and traveling. |
